Your morning coffee is anything but ordinary. As cream is poured into the cup, it creates a hypnotizing, swirling Milky Way, visible only by cutting the cup in half. Cream changes more than coffee’s appearance and flavor—coffee with cream stays warm longer than black coffee. It’s somewhat counterintuitive, but the cool, light-colored cream slows the rate of heat loss and evaporation of hot coffee.
