TYPES OF FRAMES
Recessed Mount Frames
Modern and minimal, the Recessed MountFrame makes for a stunning presentation of your artwork. This brushed anodized aluminum frame floats artwork1 19/64”out from the wall. Available in a silver or black side profile that provides substantial edge protection, while simultaneously giving art an elegant and upscale look.A pre-installed wire enables you to hang your print right out of the box. Easy-to-use security hardware enables you to anchor your artwork to the wall.

Float Frame
Made from brushed anodized aluminum, the Float Frame is designed to perfectly complement artwork.It features a ¾”channel that separates the print from the border of the frame and will add 2½” to each dimension of the final piece. A pre-installed wire enables you to hang your print right out of the box. Easy-to-use security hardware allows you to anchor your artwork to the wall. It’s available in black on our website and can also be custom-ordered in silver.

Beveled Frame
The brushed black anodized finish makes the Bevel Frame a perfect choice for displaying high-end artwork. This impressive frame is luxurious yet substantial enough to easily hold the largest print we offer. It has a ¾”channel that separates the print from the border of the frame and adds 4¼”to each dimension of the final piece. The frame comes with a pre-installed wire for hanging right out of the box.

Shadow Frame
This powerful frame is the perfect complement for equally powerful images. With a rich black brushed anodized finish, the Cast-Iron Frame makes a statement, adding 6.75″ to each dimension (¾”channel included) of the artwork. This majestic frame is sturdy enough to support the largest metal prints we offer and comes with a pre-attached hanging wire. Because of its scale, we do not recommend this frame for prints smaller than 30″ x20″ and would suggest looking into our lower-profile frames for a similar aesthetic

Artwork at Modernist Cuisine Gallery is available in a spectrum of sizes so that itcan be displayed in almost any space imaginable. Sizing options begin around 19 in (50 cm) for most aspect ratios; from there,most of the photographs in the collection can be produced as large-format pieces or even as specialty applications that can span an entire wall. The gallery team will work with you to make sure your artwork fits perfectly in any room.

PRINTING MATERIALS
We use the best materials possible to produce our limited-edition artwork. The printing processes we use allow us to create large, high-resolution images in stunning colors. We offer aluminum dye sublimation prints for online orders, as well as giclée prints for custom orders and orders placed over the phone and in-person at the New York City gallery. All artwork is limited edition, signed, and numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
DYE SUBLIMINATION PRINTS
Dye sublimation printing is a digital print technology that allows the reproduction of full-color, high-resolution images on a variety of surfaces. Special thermal printers use heat to press dye permanently into materials at the molecular level. Dye sublimation on hard surfaces, such as aluminum, is possible because the surfaces are covered with a special coating. Instead of printing images directly on a surface, which may scratch easily, the image is infused into the coating. As a result, the prints are highly pigmented and durable and have exceptional clarity and detail.
Choose dye sublimation if you want a print with a sleek profile that’s also exceptionally durable.Because of the printing process, dye sublimation prints are scratch resistant, waterproof, resistant to fading, and easy to clean. They’re great for kitchens and high-traffic areas.In addition, these prints are lightweight and do not require acrylic or glass facings, which makes them easy to hang and have a slender profile.A drawback is that the aluminum can dent with a lot of force.

GICLÉE PRINTS
As technology progresses, a growing number of photographers, artists, painters, and printmakers have adopted giclée printing, a digital print technology used to create high-quality prints. Pronounced “zhee-clay,”the term comes from the French for “that which is sprayed or squirted.”Giclée printing produces high-resolution images that can resist fading for centuries. These special large-format printers utilize pigment-based inks that can produce a wide spectrum of color and are more resistant to fading and color shifts than dye-based inks. The results are big, vibrant prints captured in sharp, unbelievable detail.
All our limited-edition giclée prints are printed on Slick rock Metallic Pearl 260 photo paper, which transforms an image into lifelike, almost 3D quality. The paper’s high gloss and unique sheen make this ideal for museum prints. The Slick rock paper captures the original beauty of an image with a metallic enhancement. It’s also a good choice for black-and-white images because the paper produces deep dark blacks and ultra-bright highlights. We pair this archival paper with an UltraChrome pigment process that uses 11 different inks, ensuring that even the minutest details are visible and the deep rich colors appear freshly printed—even after 80 years.
ACRYLITE® Gallery framing grade acrylic is used to protect framed giclée prints. . Exclusively for museum applications, this is the highest-quality acrylic sheet available for the framing market. Manufactured using a proprietary process, it’s guaranteed to be defect-free. Our acrylic is shatter resistant, offers excellent UV protection, and is great for high traffic areas. Framed giclée prints are face-mounted in between a ¾”front mount thick acrylic sheet with a ¼”rear mount thick acrylic sheet.
Choose giclée if you want a print with high archival rating. Gicléeprints can last well over 100 years with minimal fading in optimal conditions.They have a modern, translucent side profile that gives artwork a look that’s thick, elegant, and timeless. Thanks to the ACRYLITE acrylic facing, prints are shatter-and dent-resistant
Compared to dye sublimation, framed giclée prints may be easier to scratch. They are heavier and can be a little more difficult to hang and transport. We do not recommend giclée prints for outdoor use.
