Joshua Tree
The Mojave Desert is a vast and arid region located in the southwestern United States, covering parts of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. The desert is characterized by rugged mountains, vast stretches of sandy dunes, and dry basins that are dotted with sparse vegetation. The region is known for its extreme temperatures, with hot summers and cold winters, and receives very little rainfall throughout the year. Nathan captured this photo of a Joshua tree in “Hobgoblin’s Playground,” a part of the Mojave in Nevada famous for its red rocks and fiery sandstone. Here, the light of the setting sun amplifies the color of the rocks, creating a striking contrast against darkening sky.
