Green River Sunset
Island in the Sky is one of the three distinct districts that make up Canyonlands National Park, all which have their own unique landscapes. Island in the Sky’s vast mesa, with its steep, craggy walls, sits about 2,000 feet above the Colorado and Green Rivers. Hidden beneath the distinct layers of sedimentary rock that make up this landscape is 150 million years of geological history.
