Alpine Milk Cows
Juxtaposed against the rugged Swiss mountaintops in the far distance, alpine cows peacefully graze in the high-altitude meadows of the Savoy Alps. Cows that reside in mountainous terrain are bred and cared for according to precise specifications because the milk from each breed goes into creating a distinctive cheese. Traditional cheeses from the Haute-Savoie region include Bleu du Vercors-Sassenage, Comté, Abondance, Emmental, Beaufort, Reblochon, and Tomme de Savoie.
