Gravity Waves

By Nathan Myhrvold
Limited Edition

Science is a deep well of inspiration that Nathan pulls from, with no subjects left unexplored. Before Nathan began working on Modernist Cuisine, he spent his days researching general relativity and quantum theories of gravitation. Einstein’s theory of general relativity described a gravitational radiation that permeates the universe: ripples in space-time that propagate outward from stars and galaxies in a wavelike pattern. First theorized in 1893, they were first observed in 2016. Like many ideas ahead of their time, validation often requires patience.
