OVERVIEW
In the heart of Washington’s Walla Walla wine region is Figgins Estate Vineyard, one of the first wineries to grow and produce wine in the area. Nathan took this photograph of star trails in the night sky over the vineyard in September, before the vines were harvested. To capture this effect, the camera exposed the scene for about 2.5 hours as the Earth rotated, so the stars circled Polaris, the North Star.
